Igaware Anti-Spam appliance ‘best of breed’

Igaware, the UK’s leading network appliance vendor, says that its anti-spam appliance detects 99.9% of spam, keeping inboxes free from junk email.

Igaware launched their first anti-spam appliance in 2001 and have continuously updated their solution to stay ahead of spammers.

Tim Sexton, Sales Director, explained, “Detection rates are monitored across our customer base so we can instantly see how effective detection techniques are working. Spammers are constantly working to avoid detection, but we can react within minutes by releasing new spam rules and detection techniques using automatic push updates. Push updates ensure our customers’ anti-spam appliances are using the latest anti-spam software. This keeps Spam to a minimum and makes our anti-spam appliance virtually maintenance free.

Chris Moore, Technical Director, explained, “Our anti-spam appliance includes the full armoury of detection techniques including header, body and phrase tests, Bayesian filtering, collaborative filtering, greylisting and image spam detection, to name just a few. These techniques ensure our anti-spam appliance achieve the highest detection rates possible.”

“The detection rate on its own is not what makes Igaware Anti-Spam appliance ‘best of breed’. Anti-Spam solutions have their problems. False positives, quarantining, and email delays are three common problems that we have engineered out of our anti-spam appliance. By avoiding these common problems our customers get the emails they want, on-time. That’s what makes for a best of breed anti-spam appliance.”
